STRUCTURE BOTTOMS TYPE J & P: The structure bottoms may be used in conjunction with curb inlets, or any ditch bottom inlet unless otherwise shown in the plans or other standard drawings. Rectangular structures may be rotated as directed by the Engineer in order to facilitate connections between the structure walls and storm sewer pipes.

CURB INLET TOP: The Curb Inlet is a below ground box structure with a vertical throat opening at the street level. The opening is placed in the curb perimeter of the paved surface area. Also at the street level, is an iron access cover. FCP manufactures FDOT Types 1 through 8 curb inlet tops like:

  • Type 1 with a left or right wing
  • Type 2 with a left or right wing
  • Type 3 with a left or right wing
  • Type 4 with a left or right wing

These inlets may be placed in areas subject to occasional pedestrian traffic such as landscaped areas and pavement areas where pedestrians can walk around the outlet. Inlets subject to minimal debris should be constructed without slots. Where debris is a problem, inlets should be constructed with slots. Slotted inlets located within the roadway clear zones and areas subject to pedestrians shall have traversable slots. The traversable slot modification is not adaptable to Inlet Type H. Slots may be constructed at either or both ends as shown on the Plans. Traversable slots shall not be used in areas subject to occasional bicycle traffic. Specify steel grates on all inlets here bicycle traffic is anticipated, and on all inlets with traversable slots. Either cast iron or steel grates may be used on inlets without slots where bicycle traffic is not anticipated. Either cast iron or steel grates may be used on all inlets with non-traversable slots. Subject to the selection described above, when Alternate G grate is specified in the Plans, either the steel grate, hot dip galvanized after fabrication, or the cast iron grate may be used, unless he Plans stipulate the type. ROUND MANHOLE

Description: This structure is used as a storm Manhole.

Structure sizes shown in the chart represent the round available.

Pipe Size: Must be accordingly with Structure size, if it is a large pipe, it must be a larger structure.

SQUARE MANHOLE: A Manhole alternative is an opening to a confined space such as a shaft utility vault, or large vessel. Manholes are often used as an access point for an underground public utility, allowing inspection, maintenance, and system upgrades.

AIR RELEASE MANHOLE: ARVs are used to help resolve air entrapment issues; they are typically located at high point elevations in force mains Air release manhole can be constructed as per engineers’ specification, FCP builds round, square or rectangular structures, here is an example.

A: Diameter

B: Wall Thickness

C: Bottom Slab Thickness

D: Bottom Slab Extension

SANITARY SEWER MANHOLE 24” CONE

One of its purposes is that manholes are used to carry out inspection, cleaning and removing obstruction in the sewer line, also Manhole allows joining of sewer of changing the direction
of sewer or both.

Use a Manhole when:

There is change of grade of sewer.

  • There is a change in alignment.
  • There is a change in size of sewer.
  • At junction of two or more sewer.
  • Manhole is also provided in straight alignment of sewers at regular intervals depending upon the diameters of sewer.
  • Structure size is usually 48” Round walls and bottom slab are monolithic.
  • Cone or corbel could be 18”, 24” or 36” deep (As per requested)

BUTTERFLY MANHOLE

SHALLOW MANHOLE: These are constructed at the beginning of branch sewers or on sewers laid at places which are not subjected to heavy traffic. These are also known as inspection chambers and are provided with light cast iron cover and frame at the top.

PRECAST TOP SLAB: Is used in conjunction with rounded and square structures All dimensions (A, B, C) and specifications (casting and reinforcement) can change as per request.

STRAIGHT CONCRETE ENDWALL 84" PIPE

An Endwall is a wall at a pipe outlet to support the road and protect it from the erosive forces of flowing water. One of the multiples benefits of an Endwall is that this structure provides structural support for the road and prevents crushing of the pipe The Straight Concrete Endwall can be in different sizes, its dimensions depend on:

Single or multiple pipes.

Pipe size: 60””Single & Double 66”

Single & Double, 72” Single & Double, 84”Single & Double.

SINGLE PIPE ENDWALL

An Endwall is a wall at a pipe outlet to support the road and protect it from the erosive forces of flowing water. One of the multiples benefits of an Endwall is that this structure provides structural support for the road and
prevents crushing of the pipe The Endwall can be in different sizes, its dimensions depend on:

-Single or multiple pipes.

-Pipe size: 15”, 18”, 24”, 27’’, 30”, 36’’, 42’’, 48’’, 54’’, Elliptic

FCP is not responsible for the design of the structures, the characteristics of each Endwall depends on the pipe size such as dimension A-X and is based on INDEX 430-030, if there is any changes, contractor has to provide all the necessary information.

DOUBLE PIPE ENDWALL

WINDGED HEADWALLS

Headwalls and Wingwalls are produces to finish and secure the ends of pipe, box culverts and bridge sections.

They are designed to function together with the conduit to provide a sound, functional and permanent structure.

ENDWALL WITH U TYPE WINGS

Are used at the end of the pipe. These structures are typically on the side of the road, they are used to prevent erosion around pipe openings.

U TYPE ENDWALL WITH GRATE

U-ENDWALL WITH BAFFLE & GRATE

This structure should be constructed with FDOT specifications, this structure is used to support the road and protect the ends of the pipe. Recommendations: For this structure, it is important to anticipate the forces of drainage water under heavy storm high flow conditions.

The U-Endwall can be in differentsizes, its dimensions depend on:

-Pipe size: 15”, 18”, 24”, 30”Slope: 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:6

VALVE VAULT 42” X 72”

Precast utility vaults are the industry's leading product choice to protect and provide access to subterranean public utility equipment such as valves for water, natural gas lines, or electrical and telecommunications equipment. We will quote and build custom engineered valve vaults meet the engineers 'specifications.

CONCRETE SLAB: Is a common structural element modern building, consisting of flat, horizontal surface made of cast concrete. Steel reinforced slabs.

BOX CULVERT SINGLE: A culvert is a structure that channels water past an obstacle or to channel a subterranean Waterway. Typically embedded to be surrounded by soil, a culvert may be made from a pipe, reinforced concrete or other material. Culverts are commonly used both as cross-drains to relieve drainage of ditches at the roadside, and to pass water under a road at natural drainage and stream crossings. A culvert may also be a bridge-like structure designed to allow vehicle or pedestrian traffic to cross over the waterway while allowing adequate passage for the water.

DOUBLRE BOX CULVERT

TRENCH DRAIN: Trench drain provides an elongated surface for water to drain from a specific area, such as a driveway, beneath an un-guttered roof edge, sidewalk or similar area where water tends to collect. It's essentially a gutter that is set into the ground. When it comes to the in-floor draining system, your floors must have a slope that allows water to flow to drain channel.
